There’s nothing like gingerbread to celebrate Christmas. Full of delicious spices and topped with festive decorations, these easy to make gingerbread sticks are the perfect treat to make with your kids.
Ingredients:
- 80 g butter
- 100 g honey
- 60 g brown sugar
- ½ tsp cardamom
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 ½ tsp ginger
- ¼ tsp cloves
- 200 g flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Sugar decorations
Add butter, honey, sugar and spices to a bowl and mix to combine. When the mixture is combined, add flour and baking soda and continue to mix with the spatula, then knead with your hands. Be careful not to over knead the dough. Dust the countertop and the dough with flour and roll the dough into a 5 mm thick rectangle. Cut the dough into 1 cm wide strips, transfer to a baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes at 170 °C. Decorate with icing and sugar decorations.
