Hisense South Africa attended the Shoprite and Tafelberg Groups’ respective annual award ceremonies in Cape Town earlier this month. Not only was Hisense awarded the Annual Supplier Award from Shoprite, but also received the Best Value Product Range Award from the Tafelberg Group. Luna Nortje, the Sales Director received both awards on behalf of Hisense. Over and above the award, the Shoprite Group presented Hisense with a R15000 charity bonus for their Atlantis factory community social responsibility activities.
The Hisense Premier Elite Club was launched this year which focuses on building good relationships and improving sales performance with high-end customers. Both the Shoprite and Tafelberg Groups are part of the club. Shoprite is one of the largest retail channel groups with 2370 stores in its portfolio – including the Checkers, Checkers Hyper, House&Home, Shoprite and Ok Furniture chain stores. Hisense currently do business with House&Home and Ok Furniture stores directly. Tafelberg Furnishers is a high-end independent retailer in the Western Cape and Hisense entered this channel by replacing Sony. Hisense’s performance in this group has grown rapidly over the past two years and have been competing head on with Samsung and LG.
Having received both these awards from the Shoprite and Tafelberg is a great achievement for Hisense South Africa’s customer optimization strategy. Hisense’s sales data from January to November has indicated that Hisense TVs’ Top 10 customers sales value share reaches 80.2% and Hisense’s fridges Top 10 customer share reaches 95.4%. Furthermore, the whole company’s sales value amounts to over 200 million USD with an increase of 25.27% year on year.
