Live Report: On June 6th, Hisense held an opening ceremony with the theme as “Living Legacy,” marking the official opening of Hisense South Africa Western Cape Atlantis Industrial Park. Minister of South Africa Economic Development, Mr. Ebrahim Patel, Governor of Western Cape Province, Mrs. Helen Zille, Executive Director of UNEP South Africa, Mrs. Cecilia Njenga, Chinese Embassy Deputy Consul, and other important government leaders attended the ceremony. Dr. Lan Lin, Vice President of Hisense Group, and Qingcheng Lu, Vice President of China-Africa Development Fund, also participated in the ceremony. More than 40 media outlets and over 300 customers were also invited to the event.
The opening ceremony was designed in a forest scene with the concept of green and eco-friendliness. Hisense used live trees and forest scenery to blend together the green theme. For this event, Hisense received more than 400 trees donated from local partners and suppliers. These trees will be planted in the landscape of the development. An African dance show opened up the ceremony and a Grammy Award winning performance group also performed during the ceremony. Coupled with exciting new product launches and ribbon-cutting ceremony, the opening ceremony was certainly entertaining and cheerful. Hisense also exhibited its full line of products including TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, small appliances, mobile phones, tablets, and more products. The ceremony also highlighted the 84-inch Ultra High Resolution TV, Glass-free 3D TV, transparent 3D TV, A + + + energy-saving refrigerators, and other high-end products. Also, the Hisense 110-inch UHD TV, the world’s largest Ultra HDTV, was also displayed for the first time in South Africa attracting many visitors and media’s attention.
After the ceremony, Hisense arranged a tree planting activity and showed those in attendance the new plant’s production line, wind power utilization, and football/basketball venues built for the local staff, which impressed the guests.
