Johannesburg – Hisense SA Celebrates Mandela Day At Local Children’s Home
Johannesburg, 27 July 2017: Hisense, a leader of flat-panel televisions, home appliances, and mobile communication devices celebrated Mandela Day on 18 July at a local children’s home in Randburg, Johannesburg. Each year around Mandela Day, the nation comes together in spirit to honour our former-leader while trying to make a small difference in our country’s well-being. Among those seeking to deliver acts of kindness is Hisense who aims to help create a better South Africa by contributing their time to those in need. To honour Madiba’s life this year, the Johannesburg-based Hisense team spent their 67 minutes paying homage to Miracle Mission Children’s Home. Established in 1999, Miracle Mission is a non-profit organisation registered with The Department of Social Development and operates to provide a home for children in distress. The home cares for children whom have suffered abandonment, abuse, neglect, and whom may be HIV positive. “Our goal is to ensure the very best long term care for these children and to see them settled in a positive environment,” says Cindy Sproat, Manager of Miracle Mission. Aware of the home’s daily struggles, and to make a difference to the lives of the children at Miracle Mission, the electronics world-leader donated much needed supplies such as nappies, formula and baby toiletries. In addition to this, Hisense also donated a brand new fridge to the home which was in desperate need of keeping food fresh for the children. “Our philosophy as a brand encompasses technology, responsibility, integrity and quality – traits that should certainly be celebrated on Mandela Day”, notes Claire Noyes-Smith, Marketing Manager of Hisense South Africa. www.hisense.co.za | Twitter: @HisenseSA | Facebook: HisenseSA | Instagram: HisenseSA | #MandelaDay #AimHigh
